Microsoft Corporation does not have any physical presence in Zimbabwe, buttheir solutions and products impact the Zimbabwean Education system daily.However the general Zimbabwean population was not aware of this.

the solution


To address this Bergast House was engaged to take advantage of a media outreach opportunity presented by the Innovation Africa Summit that was to be held for the first time in Zimbabwe. Our key objective was to promote Microsoft broadly in local, pan African and global press outlets.

With this in mind, we shifted media focus from the summit to Microsoft through a press conference where an MOU was signed between Microsoft and The Ministry of Education in Zimbabwe. We gotMicrosoft’s regional business leader for the Middle East, Dr Marc East to talk to the press about Smart classrooms that they were creating across Zimbabwe to drive innovation, performance and growth inZimbabwean schools.

As a result of this, we saw media uptake of the story in a significant number of local,regional and global media outlets. The story got over 10 977 000 media impressions over the first month after the event, and US$120 000.00 worth of AD value from local media.
